Ever wondered how large the companies that sell on Amazon actually are? Webretailer released this list of the worlds top Amazon sellers.
The report is based on feedback count and rating over the course o12 months, and although as is mentioned in the report, “feedback isn’t a direct measure of success”, it is worth noting that feedback count can be an indicator of sales. Amazon says that most sellers receive feedback on 10% – 20% of their sales, so the number of units sold is likely to be 5x to 10x more than the feedback count that a seller has. It is also worth taking into consideration how these figures will vary by region and by product category, with certain technology products potentially requiring more support.
One very interesting point to come out of the report, is that 51% of the biggest sellers across Europe are only selling into one marketplace, which means that while there is a large amount of cross border trade going on, local markets are highly profitable for sellers. Additionally, of the cross border traders, more than half of them receive 90% of their feedback from their home marketplace.
